not heard in any other tower and were designed for the old ring of 6 bells.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Please note that this tour involves climbing over 50 steep, narrow and uneven steps.\u00a0 It is not suitable for the infirm or those who have issues with enclosed spaces.\u00a0 We welcome accompanied children but we cannot accept bookings for someone under eight years old.<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nTours are limited for safety reasons to six people.\u00a0 The actual tower visit will take 30 minutes but, for the whole experience, allow an hour.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/bell-tower-tours-kildwick-farnhill-ve-80-day-tickets-1331010110069\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Book your place here on the Eventbrite website<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>&#8230; but read on&#8230;<\/h4>\n<p>Your tour will start in the ground floor where you will have a short safety briefing and a quick introduction to what you will see.\u00a0 When the previous tour exits the tower, you&#8217;ll climb to the clock chamber (a turn to the left) where a guide will show you our venerable Cryer clock.\u00a0 If they are visible, you&#8217;ll see the enormous weights which are wound up three times a week.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-543 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/kildwickringers.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/BellsUp-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kildwickringers.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/BellsUp-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kildwickringers.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/BellsUp.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Don&#8217;t spend long there.\u00a0 The bells await!\u00a0 Another curl of the stairs brings you to the bell chamber door.\u00a0 Climb a bit past it and then step across the gap into the ringing chamber.\u00a0 Your guide will help you and keep you safe.<br \/>\nThe eight bells are hanging there silently.\u00a0 They have a strange &#8220;presence&#8221; &#8211; read Dorothy Sayers&#8217; &#8216;The Nine Tailors&#8217; for an evocative description of a bell chamber.<br \/>\nExit the bell chamber carefully and make your way down to ground level.\u00a0 Keep at least one hand on the rope handrail!<\/p>\n<p>Once down, the next tour will take your place &#8211; but you have a while to talk with the ringers in attendance and to find out a little more about the fascinating and absorbing art that is Bell Ringing.<\/p>\n<p>We have some souvenirs available &#8211;
